In Performing Arts

Theatre and the performing arts have always functioned as a meeting point for ideas and cultures.  Birmingham has always had a vibrant tradition of performance art.  In this year’s festival the performances will reflect the individuals’ pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world.

Works to be presented include the Birmingham School of Acting production of Brecht’s ‘The Good Person of Sichuan’, which was completed whilst the author was in exile in Finland in 1940 and 3 works which reflect the excitement of a New Generation: the Restoration in England.

The actors in these works are all newly trained, facing the challenges of developing careers in the performing arts in the diverse and complex worlds of the 3rd millennium.
